James Arthor “Jim” Gilley, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Woodbury Nursing Home following an extended illness.
A nember of the Church of Christ, he was a carpenter and a farmer. He was a residence of Woodbury and a Cannon County native.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie & Eva Young Gilley; sister, Hattie Mae Merritt; two brothers, Charlie and Eugene “Sam” Gilley and a nephew, Randall Gilley.
Survivors include nephews, Jerry, David, Dewayne and Ronnie Gilley, all of Woodbury, Mike Gilley of Smith and Keith Merritt of Murfreesboro; sister-in-law, Sandra Lee Gilley of Woodbury, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18 and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
