We are thankful to Kevin for reporting this so quickly for us. If anyone has any information or heard any shots during that time and in what vicinity, your name will remain anonymous, we just want our neighborhood to stay safe and animals to be able to run on their own yard or if they get loose, not to be SHOT and left suffering. This dog after being shot and in shock could have seriously hurt someone.....Thank you once again Kevin for reporting this for our neighborhood. We have a GREAT neighborhood Watch in the Lake Anne Carole Anne Drive Subdivision. We want our children and pets to remain safe and this bullet went right through this dog and could have hit anyone...any information is greatly appreciated if you saw or heard anything ...

This is so sad & whoever did this is very low down.

I agree. Hopefully someone will have heard something or have seen something. It is pitiful that someone would do this to a family pet. Anyone who had guts would come forward but we have two leads on who did it. If they would come forward and say they were afraid or he chased them or whatever it would be one thing to deal with but someone doing this heartlessly is another. He wouldn’t hurt or chase anyone and everyone knows him in the neighborhood. Flyers went out today for a $100.00 reward.

Dr. Tate is a WONDERFUL veterinarian. He is bringing Dr. Newman in , a mobile VET hospital and they are doing surgery tomorrow at 8:30 and it will take 2-3 hours. I am an animal lover also and it was either take his leg off or have plates and screws and bolts put in. This was NOT her fault and some callous person did this. We didn’t care about the cost which is over $2000.00 for the surgery or more but my pet is worth it. THanks for the kind words and thanks to Kevin who posted this article for our neighborhood!

My beautiful friend, a loving Yellow Labrador Retreivor passed away on Oct. 27th and I am having trouble dealing with this, and I know the people who owns this precious dog that was shot so cruelly is devistated.Anyone that hurts anyone's dog or any other animal, Hanging is too good for them.Dr.Tate is the best, if anyone can put your sweet dog back on his feet Dr. Tate can.

We brought him home today and Dr. Tate & Dr. Newman did the surgery yesterday. He was in at 9:15 a.m. and they called me at 2:30 p.m. & said he was out & did wonderful. They let me pick him up today & he is swollen REALLY bad but has a plate & 7 bolts & screws and a Titanium Rod. Dr. Tate was WONDERFUL and the bill was WAY less than what I expected! I know what they told me it would cost for Dr. Newman at the Murfreesboro Vet Hospital to do it there & he came here & did it. I know in my heart when I got the bill, Dr. TATE did not charge me hardly anything from Saturday until Tuesday, IV’s, Morphine, Antibiotics, etc. My bill was almost EXACTLY what the charge would have been in Murfreesboro for the exact same Dr. Dr. Tate is a wonderful caring individual who TRULY loves animals. We can’t thank him enough. He called regularly with updates & I just talked to him again about an hour ago. The person/persons that did this we feel strongly DO NOT LIVE on our road but “VISIT”. We have many leads but still need definite proof. The reward is $200.00 now for information leading to the person who pulled the trigger....Thank you Kevin Helpren also for all yo uhave done in making this public and making our neighborhood aware. We had one neighbor come and check on our doberman today and several call regularly to see how he was. No wonder we have lived in Cannon County since 1978 and all our children are here. We couldn’t ask for a better place to live despite this cruel inhumane thing that someone did. They will be caught!!!

No thanks needed at all. It's just great to know he is and will be OK! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Based on an experience I had a few months ago with a missing (stolen?) Siamese cat, and reports I read in the Warren County newspaper, I too think we are dealing with roving bandits/thugs. I think they might be two guys who drive around in an old, beat up, small black car.

We will keep watch on our road. EVERYONE ON OUR ROAD is reading this article and I too want to THANK everyone who has given us some information about shots fired, location and where the dog was seen bleeding........We feel we KNOW who it is already and many people on our road are in agreement so now they are being watched...

I am so happy that you brought your dog home, Dr. Tate is the best. Keep your eyes open and catch those horrible jerks that shot him. The jerks won't be able to keep their mouths shut. they will have to brag about it to somebody. That will always get them caught. It makes me sick that someone can be so cruel.
