Two Charged With Aggravated Assault Of Child

Julia Hazard and Glenn Brannan, both of 170 Brannon Lane, Woodbury, were each served warrants for Aggravated Assault on April 23 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Smith.

Lisa Michelle Toombs, of Murfreesboro, the boy’s mother, alleges in the warrants that on April 22, Hazard strangled her eight-year-old son with her hands and arm. The alleged assault was witnessed by the boy’s brother.

Brannan, who is the boy’s father, allegedly refused to intervene and told the boy, “No, you deserved it.”

Bond for Hazard and Brannon was set at $10,000 apiece. Initial court date is May 1.
