At The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, six young people overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, struggle to find their place in the world in this hilarious musical comedy.
Despite lofty parental expectations, six-syllable words, and the pangs of puberty, these six kids with a worship of words discover how to spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S as they learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. Some of the lucky audience members will be chosen to compete on-stage, spelling “taradiddle,” “slobberknocker,” or even “poppysmic.” themselves.
