Tennessee Tech University is giving the public an up-close glimpse at cutting-edge faculty research with its annual “Faculty Innovator Showcase,” held Wednesday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to Noon in the university’s Memorial Gym.
The event, presented by Tech’s Office of Research and Economic Development in partnership with LaunchTN’s Tennessee Technology Advancement Consortium, will begin with a trade show-style showcase from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., during which attendees can engage with faculty in an interactive exhibit format. From 11 a.m. to noon, faculty members will deliver dynamic, seven-minute presentations about their projects, their impact and future applications.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for the public to see firsthand the groundbreaking research and innovation happening at Tennessee Tech,” said Michael Aikens, Tech's assistant vice president for economic development. “We encourage entrepreneurs, business leaders, government officials and anyone passionate about innovation to attend and engage with our faculty researchers.”
The Faculty Innovator Showcase is part of Tech’s “Research and Creative Inquiry Day,” a campus-wide event that celebrates research and creative work across disciplines. In addition to faculty presentations, attendees can also explore student research posters, where undergraduate and graduate students from all departments will showcase their own innovative projects.
The event is free and open to the community, but registration is encouraged. Learn more and register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tennessee-techs-2025-innovator-showcase-tickets-1288962835539.
