Sympathy is extended to the family and loved ones of Eugene "Gene" Bell who passed away last week.
Congratulations to the John Higgins' family. Every Chiangus Junior Grand and Reserve Grand Champion (including bred and owned) came from the Higgins Farm during the 2013 "How the West was Won" competition held June 15-21 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Allison and Amelia had the Bred and Owned Reserve Champions.

Jewell Dale of Tunnell Hill, GA spent several days here last week. Friday night she along with Robbie Owen, P-pa and I joined Marvin and Ruth Davenport and Sam, Bethany and Rylon Morrison at Billy's Restaurant in Manchester.

Saturday morning P-pa and I were in Morrison to watch Rylon play his last T-ball game and receive a trophy. That night, Janna, Alayna and Adrianna Reed and I met them at the Moonlight Drive-in to watch "Monster University".
Sunday night Rylon and Adrianna spent the night with us. Monday morning it was off to Mufreesboro to enjoy the Discovery Center with those two and Kullon Patrick. We enjoyed lunch at Cici's Pizza.
Betty and Terry Thomas and granddaughter, Madison Gaither, joined Bobby and Brenda Francis and granddaughter, Callie Francis, for several days of horseback riding near Jamestown.
Prosperity Baptist Youth were in Spencer at Welchland Baptist Church to lead in a week-long Vacation Bible School. Youth attending were Alayna and Janna Reed, Jordan Blackburn, Hailey Walker, Destiny Rich, Charlie Young, Bailey Hales and Jayra Plattenburg. Leaders were Bonnie and Allison Rigsby, Sherry Plattenburg and Lesa Hayes.
Auburntown Church of Christ youth and leaders left out Wednesday night for a 9-day mission trip to Costa Rica.

Celebrating another year older this week are Melinda Crook and Devin Young on the 3rd. Celebrating the same day as our nation (but no in years!!) are Carlene McCullough and Paula Leach. On the 5th, Brent Griffith and Will Bailey celebrate. Skipping all the way to the 9th, I have cousin Jewell Dale hitting the 73 mark. Happy birthday you all.
Bobby and Brenda Francis celebrate their 44th year of wedded bliss on the 5th. Happy anniversary you two.
