Several congratulations start our week off.

First to Michael and Amanda Nichols who became Mr. and Mrs. in a beautiful outdoor wedding Saturday, the first day of September. The event took place at Cheval Manor in Murfreesboro.

The next congrats goes to Maggie Tate who became the big sister to Joshua Levi Tate Monday, September 3rd. Mr. Levi weighed in at 7# and 10 oz. and measured 20-3/4" in length. His proud parents are Joshua and Rebecca Bryan Tate. Bubbling (or is it blubbering!) grandparents are Jerry and Beverly Bryan and Lamar and Emily Tate. Great grandparents are Gene and Wilma Harris and James and Sue Vance.

Betty and Terry Thomas are back home following a 2-week stay in Shelbyville to watch son, Patrick, bring in several blues and a grand championship at the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebrations.

On August 27th, he put a blue under his belt when he rode "Armed and Trigger Happy" in the Western Park Pleasure class thus qualifying the horse to show in the World Grand Champion class held August 29th. He rode him to the roses and another blue in this class.

Patrick put took home 3 more blues when he rode "Lined Up at the Ritz" in the Park Pleasure Stallions 4 years old and older class and "Lucky Daze" in the Western Park Pleasure 4 years old and under class and Western Park Pleasure 2 & 3 year old class.Congratulations Patrick. Pop came home with a big head!

Friday night was The White O'Possum night in Smithville for Robbie Owen, Ruth and Marvin Davenport and P-pa and me.

Robbie Owen spent Labor Day shopping (or at least looking - claimed she had no money!) in Murfreesboro with granddaughter Michelle James.

Ruth and Marvin Davenport traveled to Guntersville, AL, to spend the day with brother, Milan and Lib Davenport

Labor Day wasn't a good day for picnicing outside but we were able to grill some steaks here at the house and bring inside to enjoy. There was also some homemade Oreo ice cream,

pineapple/orange ice cream and an oatmeal cream pie cake to top off the main meal.

Filling up on the "grub" were Ray, Anita, Dustin and Daxton Patrick, Ashley Campbell of Woodbury, Case Isenhart of Centertown, Kyle, Shannon and Kullon Patrick of Murfreesboro, and Tim, DeAnna, Janna, Alayna and Adrianna Reed.

Sunday the 2nd was "Back to School" day at Auburn Baptist Church. For the past 10 years special guests for this service has been David Turner and friends. This year was no exception. They were back again even after "friend" Todd was hit by what he thought was a big yellow school bus but it turned out to be Steve Fletcher who had on a bright yellow shirt! Betty King will become an official member of the Medicare group on the 12th. Celebrating the same day is Ed Faille. On the 14th, Dottie Holder adds another year. Skipping all the way to the 18th is Shannon Reiter Lara who has her 26th birthday. Happy birthday to all of you.

Happy anniversary to Darrell and Susan Turney who celebrate the 16th.
