It was a surprise visitor for Ruth and Marvin Davenport when friend, Jim Fuller of Murfreesboro, pulled in Saturday. They spent the afternoon catching up on old times.
A Sesame Street birthday party complete with Elmo, Ernie, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Crouch cupcakes for Kullon Patrick's very first birthday. The "real" crouch was on hand for the occasion. A "guessimate" of 30 enjoyed helping Kullon enjoy his first. The event was hosted by Dad, Kyle, and Mom, Shannon, at his home in Murfreesboro.
Prosperity Baptist Church enjoyed Sunday Morning Worship with sister Prosperity Missionary Baptist. This was followed by a delicious Thanksgiving meal provided by PMB.
Fourteen Jr. Betas and 8 adults left out right after church Sunday for the State Beta Convention held at Opryland Hotel, Nashville. McKenzie Turney did a great job in the speech competition placing 2nd. Congratulations McKenzie. The high school skit placed 4th out of 14. Local members are Alayna Reed, Johnny Kennedy, Caroline Gunter and Rachel Dorris. Great job.
Lots of families gathered around the Thanksgiving table. Ruth and Marvin Davenport enjoyed a delicious meal and visit with Mitchell, Veronica and Kelsey Davenport of Birmingham, AL, Curtis and Kathy Davenport, Teresa Baines and James Paul Davenport.
Robbie Owen cooked up a feast for Jim and Donna Sherrell, Michelle James and Brian James.
Martye Harris of Northboork, IL is home enjoying a Thanksgiving visit with family and friends. Gene and Wilma Harris were the hosts for Thanksgiving for her plus Nick, Leah, Allie, Maya and Elijah Wilson of LaVergne, Josh, Rebekah, Maggie and Levi Tate of Woodbury and Jerry and Beverly Bryan.
Gathered around the table at Tim and DeAnna Reed's were daughters, Janna, Alayna, and Adrianna. Other "turkeys" joining in were Andrea Khalil from illa Park, IL, Ray, Anita, Dustin and Daxton Patrick, Woodbury, Kyle, Shannon and Kullon Patrick of Murfreesboro, Elaine Reed, Sam, Bethany and Rylon Morrison of Morrison and of course, P-pa and me.
From the picture on facebook, it looks like Ernie Davis enjoyed a big meal! Seems he was in a food coma!
Tonight (Tuesday), the Lady Knights and Knights are hosting the DeKalb West Lady Tigers and Tigers. Games begin at 4:30 with B-teams with the "main" teams starting at 6:00. Don't forget to enjoy the concession stand while watching these talented young athletes.
Monday night, December 10th is the last game before Christmas break. That night they are traveling to Short Mt. to "ward off" the Bears!
Pray each one of you had a great Thanksgiving and above all else was (and is) thankful for all things.
It's birthday time and celebrating the 28th is Jason Francis. On the 29th David Dodd and his sister, Melissa Milligan put on another year. Finishing up the month of November are Chris Zimmer, Dan Wilkerson, Joseph McFerrin and Ryan Fletcher. On the first day of December, Fred Schaefer and Dale Mayo get to celebrate. Jacob Bobo, Daniel Neeley and Russell Fults all have their celebrations on the 3rd. Randy Lee Toombs finishes up the week when he turns a half century old on the 4th. Happy birthday to all of you.
