Betty Lou Norris of Murfreesboro passed away in her sleep on July 31, 2024, following her husband by only 21 days.

Betty Lou Campbell was born in Woodbury, TN to Andrew David Campbell and Vida Lee Gannon Campbell. She and her sister Lois shared adventures and hard work together on the land their daddy farmed. Sanders Fork Baptist Church, shelling beans, and playing basketball were significant memories of their country life. She graduated valedictorian of her high school class and moved to Murfreesboro where she began working at State Farm.

Betty and Jim met through mutual friends and soon settled down to have a family. Betty absolutely loved being mother to energetic Jay and wife to Jim as he advanced through his career at TDOT. Betty was a faithful friend to many, including fifty years of Christ-centered relationships among the Willing Workers' Sunday School class of Third Baptist Murfreesboro. She was known for her kindness, selflessness, gracefulness, and humility. Her greatest joy was her three grandchildren who knew her as Nana.

Mrs. James C. Norris, III is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years; her sister Lois Campbell Carter; and her parents. Those grieving her loss are son, James "Jay" C Norris IV, daughter-in-law, Rachel Springer Norris, grandchildren, James "Cas" C Norris V, John "Jake" Norris and Molly Norris, all of Franklin; and beloved nephew Russell Carter of Murfreesboro. While we are shocked to lose them both in a short time, we find deep joy in knowing they are together for eternity.

Visitation will be held at Woodfin Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 10:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 11:00am.

Those who wish to honor her life with a donation may give to Third Baptist Murfreesboro, or to the Norris family cemetery, where she will be interred with Jim at a family graveside service. {Roe Cemetery Fund c/o Jay Norris, 2020 Baxter Lane, Franklin TN 37069}
