It is with mixed emotions that the Cannon County Republican Party accepted the resignation of Chairperson Marcus Bowling Saturday.

Although Marcus has held the office of Chairperson for a short period of time, he has been instrumental in helping to reorganize the Cannon County Republican Party since October of 2010. Marcus has been a driving force behind meetings and events held since that time.

Marcus explained that due to a change in venue of his job as a medical supply consultant and personal reasons he no longer feels that he can provide the necessary dedication he feels the job of Chairperson requires.

Although we are saddened by the news of his resignation, we continue to wish Marcus well in his new job and expect that we will continue to see him as a regular member of the Cannon County Republican Party.

The Cannon County Republican Party will hold a general meeting on Saturday August 13th, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Cannon County Courthouse. All members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend.

Agenda items will be as follows:

1. Consideration and election of role of Chairperson for the Cannon County Republican Party

2. Approve By-Laws for the Cannon County Republican Party

3. Adjourn Meeting

Secretary
