Bush to address historical society

The Cannon County Historical Society meets Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 7 p.m. The Historical Society schedule meetings throughout the year and are held at the Cannon County Senior Citizen's facility at Woodbury. Refreshments start at 6:30 p.m. -- bring along a favorite dish. Look for the Cannon County Historical Society sign at the entrance.

Guest speaker for the September meeting will be retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Brent Bush, who will speak on America's involvement in World War I. Brent is the new Cannon County Executive.

November, 2018, marks one hundred years since the signing of the Armistice that ended the war. This war impacted many Cannon County families who saw their sons go off to war. He will reflect upon one Bush family in the Hollow Springs community that lost their son in that war. Bring along a friend as we continue to study Cannon County's unique history.
