It's offical. The Cannon community now has a new, combined official website: Woodbury, Auburntown, Cannon County and the Chamber of Commerce.
Beginning Sept. 1 and ending Sept. 30, a Banner Photo Contest will be sponsored by the Cannon County Chamber of Commerce. The banner is the part of a web page at the top, that features a horizontally oriented picture.
Interested contestants can submit photos that represent various aspects of the community; images that show the beauty and diversity of Cannon County.
Images must be in JPEG format and must be cropped to 940 pixels wide x 180 pixels tall, as they must fit the format of the banner. Any other formats or sizes will be rejected.
Submissions will be limited to two per email address. The contest will accept the first 300 images submitted in the proper format.
The Chamber of Commerce will choose the top 10 images that best reflect the community. Those 10 images will then be put on the website for the banner competition.
For 1 week website visitors will get to choose their favorite 5 images. The 5 winners will be up on CannonTN.com rotating banner for six months.
All submissions become the property of CannonTN.com and the Cannon County Chamber of Commerce. Winners names will be displayed on the website. If images contain discernible people, releases will need to be signed and received before the pictures can be posted.
The website was designed by ShortMountainStudios.com, a local graphic and web design firm. Short Mountain Studios is charged with maintaining the site and posting events to the calendar.
Any questions about the site should be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce office at chamber@cannontn.com
