A break-in at the Bradyville Fire Dept. is being investigated by the Cannon County Sheriff’s Dept.

Deputy Mike Smith was dispatched to the fire department on Hwy. 64 on Jan. 30.

When he arrived the door to the department was open. He contacted Cannon County Dispatch to have someone with the department come to see if anything was missing.

While waiting, Deputy Smith observed several cabinets were open and desk drawers had been kicked in.

Paul Simon arrived and after investigating informed Deputy Smith that approximately $200 was taken and an ax was missing from the fire truck.

Outside of the building, a Dr. Pepper vending machine was broken into by someone apparently using the ax to gain entry. Damage to the machine was estimated at around $500.

Neighbors reported seeing a white car parked at the fire department and two white males kicking and knocking on the vending machine. They drove away on Hwy. 64.

Anyone with information about the crime can report it to the CCSD at 563-1000.
