Charlie Harrell has announced his candidacy for Register of Deeds in the August 2014 General Election. Charlie is a former insurance agent on the square partnering with Walter L. (Cap) McCrary. He is also a former farmer in the Bradyville community.
He grew up in the Short Mountain community where he attended Blanton School and later Central High School in Woodbury. He served in the U.S. Air Force after high school serving four years active duty and four years in the reserves. Charlie attended Middle Tennessee State University receiving a B.S. Degree in mathematics.
Charlie is married to the former Dell Thomas of the Bradyville community. They have two children, Melissa and Mark.
He and Dell attend the Woodbury Church of Christ where they are members.
Charlie has been active in community service. He serves on the Dr. J.F. and Mrs. Adams Memorial Library Association Board. He recently served on the committee for the construction of the extension to the Adams Memorial Library and as co-chair of the fund-raising committee. Charlie is a member of the Hilton Stone American Legion Post where he was recently elected to serve as Post Commander for the coming year. He has served as Vice Mayor of Woodbury for several years.
In making his announcement, he said it will be impossible to see each and every vote, and he wishes to take this opportunity to ask every vote for his or her vote and support.
