Christmas is nearly here but many local cupboards are bare.
That's why the Cannon County Emergency Food Bank is pushing for donations.
Constant demand has stripped the Food Bank's shelves nearly bare too.
"They need almost every kind of non-perishable food except for corn and green beans," said volunteer Carolyn Motley of the Cannon County Chamber of Commerce.
And because the Food Bank also benefits fire victims, basic cleaning supplies, even toothpaste and toilet paper are needed.
No donation is too small, but large group donations are encouraged too. Groups can call 563-2222.
Collection bins are at Osborne's Piggly Wiggly, Dollar General Market, Save-A-Lot and Jennings Jewelers.
