Douglas Wayne Wimberly

Douglas Wayne Wimberly, 66, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

A native of Cannon County, Wimberly is survived by Ray Morris (Susan) Wimberly of Woodbury; sister Judy (Glen Hoyte) Mooneyham of Woodbury; nieces and nephew:  Christy (Michael) Overcash, Kim (Jamie) McPeak, Terri Mooneyham (Jason Tenpenny) and Daniel Wimberly: great nieces and nephew: Derek & Justin Bush, Cydney, Cody & Brody McPeak, Lacey Wimberly & Tatum Tenpenny. He was preceded in death by his parents, Euclid & Estes Deberry Wimberly.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and was ret. from Samsonite.  He loved to fish, play cards, watch ballgames and car races.

Funeral Service will be held at Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2012.

Bro. Greg Mitchell & Bro. Herb Alsup will officate. Interment will be at Riverside Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sun., Sept. 2, 2012

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodbury Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
