Dr. Ralph Bentley Moore, 96, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Cedars Health Care in Lebanon.
Dr. Moore was a graduate of Madison College and Vanderbilt University. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University and practiced medicine in Woodbury and McMinnville.
After his retirement he did missionary and volunteer work in many locations, including Africa. He was also a violinist with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. He was a native of Richmond, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett R. Moore and Edith McAdams Moore and sister, Mary McConnico.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Earline Thomas Moore of Lebanon; son, John Thomas (Gwen) Moore of Lebanon; daughter, Arlene (Smuts) Van Rooyen of Duarte, CA; grandchildren, Craig (Mimi) Van Rooyen of San Luis Obispo, CA, Andre (Kristin) Van Rooyen, Pasadena, CA, Natasha (Alan) Latta of San Luis Obispo, CA, Brent (Shalletta) Moore of Lebanon and Ashley (Marcel) Eisele of Kariong, Australia; nine great-grandchildren and special friend Joe and Shirley Fields.
A memorial service will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Lebanon at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service.
