Early voting ends Tuesday

Early voting for the March 1 presidential preference primary, or "SEC Primary," ends Tuesday, February 23.

Registered voters can cast their ballots early at the Cannon County Election Office at 301 West Main St., Suite #244 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Of particular interest to Cannon County voters are two tax issues. First is a sales tax referendum which, if passed, will increase the Cannon County sales tax from 1.75 cents to 2.75 cents. The second referendum would increase the county's wheel tax from $50 to $70 with the increased proceeds going to the county's general fund.
