Eunice Stevenson, 91 years old, passed away on Nov 10, 2022, at Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cannon County. She was born in Harlan County, KY to William and Celia Wilson, the youngest of their 6 children.
After finishing high school in Evarts, Ky, she moved Nashville to live with her sister, working as a switchboard operator with Bell Telephone. It was in Nashville that she met Don Stevenson, who was stationed at the Seward Air Base in Smyrna. They married 3 months later - a marriage that lasted over 70 years.
Eunice loved helping people - volunteering at the Murci-Homes in Nashville, working with Civitan International and cooking meals to share with others. Later in her life she went back to school and earned an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Technology and worked in home health helping others for several years.
She loved her Lord and sought ways to demonstrate His love and kindness to all she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Celia Wilson, her siblings, Oliver, Cecil, Charlie, Willie Robinson and Maude Davidson and her daughter JoAnn. She leaves behind her husband Don, son Jeff (Theresa) and grandsons, Joshua and Jacob, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks go out to the staff at Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care and for providing an environment where she could pass with dignity.
Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse, Gideons International, SendRelief.org or Alzheimer's Association.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
