First United Methodist Church, Woodbury makes donation to Food Bank

This has been a difficult year for our local food bank with demand being higher while at the same time donations have been down. Recently, Rev. John Wesley Hembree, pastor at First United Methodist Church Woodbury, presented a check to our local food bank for $825 from the United Methodist people of Cannon County and the surrounding area. "Our churches throughout the area receive a special hunger offering each year and then divided up the resources among organizations in our communities that are feeding the hungry," according to Hembree.

First Methodist of Woodbury also specifies one food item each month that members bring to worship and leave in a special collection bin. These items are collected each Sunday during the month and at the end of the month those food items are donated to the Cannon County Emergency Food Bank.
