Four meth cases heard

Judge David Bragg took pleas from four defendants charged with methamphetamine related charges on Thursday.
Assistant District Attorney Trevor Lynch announced the agreements based on pleas of guilty by the defendants.

Kevin Gannon and Ricky Cooper each received sentences of 12 years to the Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the charge of initiation of the process to manufacture methamphetamine.

Gannon will serve his sentence consecutive to a sentence out of Warren County. Both defendants had been held in the Cannon County Jail since their arrest on March 14, 2014. Gannon will be required to attend an inpatient treatment program at his own expense. Both were assessed fines in the amount of $2,000.

Gannon was represented by attorney Josh Crain and Copper was represented by attorney Jon Slager.
Gannon also entered a plea to a violation of probation and was ordered to serve one year and restart his four year probation.

Immediately after Gannon and Cooper entered their pleas, Rodney Lack and Twila K. Lack entered pleas to multiple meth-related charges. Each was also charged with aggravated assault charges based on the presence of a child while methamphetamine was being compounded.

Both Rodney and Twila Lack entered pleas of guilty to three charges; one count of initiation of the process to manufacture earning a twelve year sentence; aggravated assault by failure to protect a child earning a six year sentence and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of drug use earning a four year sentence. The state agreed to run the sentences concurrently. Both were fined $2,000 and ordered to pay the costs. Rodney Lack was represented by Jon Slager. Twila Lack was represented by Karen Campbell. Both had been incarcerated at the jail since their arrest.

David Bynum entered two pleas related to illegally tying into Middle Tennessee Electric Membership power lines. Bynum plead guilty to theft of services over $10,000 and received an eight year sentence as a multiple offender. Bynum also entered a plea to charges of interfering with utility lines and received a four year sentence to be served concurrently. Bynum was represented by Public Defender Ken McKnight.

Steven A. Hollis entered guilty pleas to three counts of aggravated burglary; one count of making a false report and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He received three six year sentence for each of the burglary counts to run concurrent; a four year sentence for filing a false report and a two year count on the weapons charge to run consecutive to his theft convictions. He was ordered to make restitution to the victims. Hollis was represented by attorney Daniel Barnes.
