'Frindle' Presented This Weekend

Andrew Clements award-winning story, Frindle, will be performed on the Arts Center of Cannon County stage, May 13th and 14th. The humorous story follows Nick, a very creative student, and his discovery into the power of words.  In Mrs. Granger’s language arts class, Nick gets his best idea ever when his teacher explains how words end up in the dictionary.  Nick decides to create his own word…frindle, and he gets other kids in the class to use the word. Before long Nick’s word creates a buzz well beyond his school and town. But his teacher loves the dictionary, so a fierce power struggle ensues over a made-up word!

Directed by Chelsea Toombs, the cast includes Lavy J. Little, Chamberlin Little, Carter Cantrell, M.E. Willow, Alena Denninger, Hannah Denninger, Kayleigh Jones, Dianna Reed, Michael Spencer, Joshua Grimes, Alaina Surgener, Mackenzie Turney, Lauren Turney and Hattie Fann.

Performance dates are May 13th at 7:30PM and 14th at 2:00PM. Ticket prices are $5 and may be purchased by calling the Arts Center box office at 615-563-(ARTS) 2787 or 1-800-235-9073. A $2 discount for students, seniors or groups over 10 is valid for all performances. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.artscenterofcc.com.
