Mrs. Goldie Campbell, 94, of Woodbury died August 31, 2009 at her home. She was born July 8, 1915 in Cannon County. Her parents were the late Robert Emery and Ollie (Todd) Emery. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Shelah Ray Campbell; three sons, Wayne Campbell, Shelah Ray Campbell, Jr. and Gary Michael Campbell; two brothers, Henry Emery and Ramon Emery; three sisters, Esta Mae Brandon, Lizzie Dee Mabe and Lucille Peden and by a grandson, Jeff King.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Beatrice & Morris Mathis of McMinnville, Lois (King) & Vernie Hooper of Knoxville, Gale Hawkins of Woodbury and Carol & Roger Pinson of Woodbury; a son, Mickey Campbell; one brother, John Burly Emery of McMinnville; one sister, Mabel Sciascia of Connecticut; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. She had worked at the Colonial Shirt Factory in years past. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, ceramics, gardening, canning, cooking and being outdoors.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at 2 PM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel with Wade Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery.
