Alexandria resident and Warren County native Huey Long Higgins, 77, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Higgins was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired machinist. A veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the United States Army.

Survivors:

4 children: Nora Marie (David) Murphy, Brenda Gale Bright, Robert D. (Gail) Higgins & Huey L. (Michele) Higgins, Jr. all of Indianapolis, IN.

Siblings: Jo Ruffer of Jonesboro, GA., Lou Irby of Atlanta, Fran Baird of Hendersonville and Mary Snow of Alpharetta, GA.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren & 4 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Joseph & Nellie Hillis Higgins and siblings, Beatrice McBroom, Chester Higgins, Dale law, Jessi Knapp, John Higgins & Susie Buxton.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012.

Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Friday,  May 18, 2012.
