James Howard Helton

James Howard Helton, age 84, of Nashville passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home. He was a native of Cannon Co.

Survivors include his daughter, Holly (Steve) Schmadeke of Denver, CO; Grandchildren, Aaron & Grant Schmadeke; and Brother, Wayne (Margie) Helton of Woodbury. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Jewell Green Helton; Siblings, Joe Don Helton & Jean Young; and Brother-in-law, Millard Young.

Mr. Helton was a bookkeeper and was a Veteran of the Army where he served in Korea. He enjoyed fishing and attending Vanderbilt games.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, March 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the funeral home.
