Jesse Wayne Alexander, 73, of Readyville passed away at his home Wed., May 15, 2013 following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jesse Mayne Alexander & Julia Hollis Alexander.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Claudette Bowen Alexander; Sons: Claude (Traci) Alexander of Readyville and Charles Alexander of Woodbury; Daughter: Cynthia (Sastri) Kodavanti of Readyville; Sister: Eunice Alexander Haley of McMinnville; Grandchildren: Michael (Taylor) Alexander, Brett Alexander, Jesse (Emily) Alexander, Ben Alexander, C.W. Alexander and Vijay Kodavanti, April Alexander, Amanda Alexander and Ashley Greenwood; Step granddaughters: Ashley Skelton, Allie Wilson and Shana Phillips; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law: Lynn (Alfred) Oldham of Murfreesboro and Kay Bowen of Canada; Lloyd and Boyd Bowen of Cleveland, TN.; Special Cousin: Curtis (Claira) Hollis of Manchester, Tn.; Also surviving are 4 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and other beloved family.
Wayne was a lifelong resident of Cannon County. He was a devoted member of the Curlee Church of Christ and was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ. He was a retired machinist for General Electric in Murfreesboro. He was also a former road commissioner for Cannon County. He spent his whole life farming and loved spending time tending to his animals and bees. He also loved to travel; he had visited all 50 states, plus Canada, Germany, the Bahamas and the Panama Canal. But most all he loved God, his family and he will be missed by many.
Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Sat., May 18, 2013 with Bro. Herb Alsupofficiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5- 9 pm Friday May 17, 2013 & Sat. until time of service.
