Graveside services for Jimmy Ray Green, 61, of Woodbury will be conducted by Smith Funeral Home at Cherry Cemetery on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 AM. Greg Mitchell will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 4-8 PM.
Mr. Green passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his home. He was born August 16, 1952 in Cannon County, Tennessee, the son of the late Oscar Cecil Green and Thelma Ruth Messick Green. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Junior Green, Billy Green, Marvin Green and Don Green.
He is survived by his son, Andrew Simon of Clarksville, TN; one brother, Melvin (Phyllis) Green of Woodbury; five sisters, Ruby Velasco of Murfreesboro, Betty (Tom) Grissom of Woodbury, Melba Emptage of El Monte, CA, Joyce (Jim) Burns of Murfreesboro and Peggy (Barry) Sain of Manchester; also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Green was born the youngest of eleven children. Growing up he always had an ability and a love for working on anything mechanical. He enjoyed going fishing, planting and working a garden, watching sports on television and listening to music. He liked the peace and quiet of his home and to have family and friends come to visit.
