Johnny W. Thomas

Graveside services for Johnny Waymon Thomas, 67, of Lena, Mississippi were held Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Center Hill Cemetery with Woodbury Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thomas, a native of Cannon County, died Wednesday, August 26. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy and a retired employee of Carrier Corp. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Coleman and is the son of Dorothy Lance Thomas of Lena and the late Johnny Thomas.

Survivors include four children: Deborah and Michael Mooneyham of Woodbury, Timothy and Michele Thomas of Lena, MS, John and Kelly Thomas of Virginia, Melanie and Mark Henry of Carthage, MS; sisters, Treva Bailey, Linda (Susie) and Bobby Simpson, both of Woodbury; brother, Randy and Deanna Thomas of Woodbury and eight grandchildren, Tony Taylor, Chris Taylor, Ashley Thomas, Steven Thomas, Tesa Henry, Cindy Thomas, Briana Thomas and Connor Henry.
