To the editor:
I have been watching the events unfolding in Egypt. I have noticed so many similarities to events in our own America.
Our house speaker, Mr. Boehner says that the military did what they had to do to protect the people from the Egyptian government. It's a shame that he can't see that for his own country.
Our leaders display such efficient vision in finding flaws in the affairs and policies of other countries, but have total blindness and disregard for correcting some of our own government's problems. These problems, which to me and most thinking Americans are of the utmost importance. Personally, I am disgusted with a government that produces only scandals and gross ineptitude.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says that the interpretation of the constitution needs to to be changed so the government can have "greater power" to"protect it's citizens". This from the man who wants to make it illegal to have a 12 oz. soft drink? All of this foolishness sounds as if the inmates are running the institution! What a shame!
