Levert Mayne Melton

Services for Levert Mayne Melton, 97, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Stanton officiating. Burial will follow at Gunter Grizzle Cemetery.

Mr. Melton died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at Stones River Hospital. He was a member of Short Mountain Church of God, a farmer and retired from Powermatic in McMinnville.

He is survived by four children, Darris Clinton (Shirley) Melton of Woodbury, Dorothy Jo Lawson of McMinnville, Carolyn Sue (Randy) Hopkins of Houston, Texas and Nell D. (Frank) Bell of Manchester; grandchildren, Sherry Thomas, Angela Lawson, Tina Basham, Mark Hopkins, John Hopkins, Stephen Black and Kimberly Black; also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Bertha Taylor Melton and his wife, Nona Mai Melton.
