Lion Golfers Open Season 1-1

The Cannon County Lions Golf Team opened the season Tuesday with a match against Boyd Christian at Willow Brook Golf Club. Playing the back nine, the Lions were led by Justin Davenport who turned in a score of 40.

Other players with counting scores were Jared Nave (44), Cody Ruehlen (45), and Josh Goff (51), giving the Lions a final score of 180 defeating Boyd Christian who had a team score of 207.

On Thursday the Lions traveled to Smith County for their match against the Owls. Davenport had the low score for the match firing a 39. Josh Smith shot a 44 followed by Nave (46) and Ruehlen (53).

The Lions lost to Smith County 173 to 182. Their season record stands at 1-1.
