As of presstime the No. 6-ranked Lionettes were playing Livingston Academy in the District 8-AA championship game, and the Lions were playing Upperman in a consolation game.
Both teams are assured Region 4-AA berths based on their top four finish in the District 7-AA Tournament.
The Lionettes (25-4) are assured of a first-round home game and will face either Grundy County or Chattanooga Christian at Robert A. Harris Gymnasium Friday at 7 p.m.
The Lions (13-16) will be forced to travel in the first round of the Region 4-AA Tournament.
They will face either Bledsoe County or Signal Mountain Saturday.
Both teams face must-win games to reach the semifinals.
Only the top two teams in the Region 4-AA Tournament advance to the Class AA Substate round.
