Lionettes Ranked Fourth In Basketball Poll

Cannon County is ranked fourth in Class AA in the Associated Press girls basketball poll.

The Lionettes are undefeated on the season with a 14-0 record. They face Smith County Tuesday night at home.

Ahead of Cannon County is Gibson County, McMinn Central and Elizabethton.

Just behind the Lionettes, who received 80 votes in the poll, is fellow District 8-AA member Livingston Academy at No. 5.

The Upperman Lady Bees, who visit Cannon County Saturday night for a district battle, garnered 25 votes in the AP poll.
