Lionettes To Play Region Tournament Semifinal Tonight

The Cannon County Lionettes girls soccer team have 8 wins on the season. It is their most ever in program history and the opportunity to get win number nine lies ahead this evening in Hendersonville but they have got their work cut out for them. The Lionettes lost in their first ever district 7A championship game to Smith County 2-0, but advanced to their first ever region tournament game since the began and it's tonight at Merrol Hyde Magnet School. Merrol Hyde is currently 6-2-1. The 8A team has had a different type of season being that only one of the other three teams in the district fielded a soccer team this year.
Merrol Hyde has advanced to the state tournament three consecutive years and played for the state championship in 2018.
Tonight's game starts at 6:00.
