For the past year, Lions have addressed the global illiteracy issue by promoting early reading and improved access to education in their communities. With over 2 million volunteer hours and 6 million people served as part of the Reading Action Program in 2012-13, the Lions Clubs International Board of Directors is extending the campaign for a minimum of 10 years. That means Lions can continue focusing projects on literacy and education, as well as collaborating with partners to expand resources and volunteer opportunities that help children and adults everywhere build brighter futures.
