Lions Head To First Round Region Tourney At Grundy Saturday

With the overtime loss on Tuesday in the consolation game of the District 8-AA tournament the Cannon County Lions enter the region tournament as the number four seed. They will face the number one seed from District 7-AA in Grundy County in Coalmont Saturday night in the opening round. Grundy squeaked by Cumberland County 53-52 in the 7-AA tournament championship Monday night.
In like common opponents this season Grundy split a series with Cascade losing by 18 in November while Cannon beat the Champions by 12. Both teams lost to Coffee County, Grundy by 35 while Cannon lost by just 5.
The Lions have struggled in the postseason winning by just two against Dekalb with losses to Watertown by two and a potential semifinal opponent in York by 22.
