Lydia Poteet Sanders

Lydia Poteet Sanders, age 72, of Normandy, Tennessee, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at her residence with her loving family at her side.

She was born April 25, 1951, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Odie and Rachel Cochran Poteet. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was very involved in the church women's ministry and was a former secretary at Stones River Church of Christ. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the church choir and at Freed-Hardeman University while a student. Her greatest joy was living in her dream home and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Stephen Sanders of Normandy; son Adam (Michelle) Sanders of Murfreesboro; daughter, Mandi Sanders of Normandy; brother Mercy (Dale) Poteet of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Jessica (Sean) Hardy, Jonah Sanders, and Jonathan (Julia) Sanders.

A celebration of life will begin Monday, December 18, 2023, at Stones River Church of Christ at 1607 Hamilton Drive, Murfreesboro, TN, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
