Lynn Watson Bourgeois

It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of our beloved mother, Lynn Watson Bourgeois, who left this Earth on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at the age of 74. She passed peacefully at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, in Murfreesboro, TN, surrounded by family and friends.

Lynn was a native from Kentucky, who spent most of her life in Woodbury, TN. She resided here with her loving husband of 38 years, while raising their boys on the farmland that she loved, until John's passing in 2021. Lynn worked as a Parole/Probation Officer for 20+ years for the state of Tennessee. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and close friends. She often got teased for reading more than one book at a time, but she was an avid reader who couldn't wait to finish a story and start another. If you knew Lynn, you knew where you stood with her-be it good or bad. She made no qualms about her feelings or opinions about anything and everything and was happy to share them with anyone who would listen.

Even towards the end of her illness, Lynn loved visiting with her sons and grandchildren, and lifelong friend, Glenda Harris Davenport. She could never turn down a good BLT sandwich, shrimp tacos, or any sweet treat! She will be deeply missed by those who loved and adored her.

Lynn is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Bourgeois, parents-Walden and Mildred Watson of Woodbury, TN. She is survived by her sons, Todd Maddox, and Andy Bourgeois (Shelby), and grandchildren: Remy Maddox, Heidi Bourgeois, and Bradley Bourgeois.

Memorial Service to be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2024, from 4-7pm at Woodbury Funeral Home, 504 W. Main Street, Woodbury, TN 37190.
