Mert Byford

Services for Mert Byford, 71, of Woodbury, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Leonard Herman officiating. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Mr. Byford died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. A member of the Baptist Church, he was a farmer and a mechanic. He was a DeKalb County native.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Ferrell Byford of Woodbury; children, Ella (Mike) Green, Greg Byford and Shane Byford, all of Woodbury, and Charles Ferrell of Liberty; grandchildren, Shala (Jason) Tune, Kimberly (Daniel) Morton, Myranda and Lucas Byford, Cheyenne, Hayden and Madison Byford; two great grandchildren, Lyndsey Tune and Devin Morton; brother, George H. (Geneva) Byford of Woodbury; special friends, Hilton Ferrell and Tammara Giornesto. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
