Judge Don Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Thursday. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:
Tony Barrett pled guilty to the charge of felony possession of methamphetamine under .5 grams. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison as a range 1, 30 percent offender. He was ordered to serve his entire sentence. In addition he was fined $5,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs.
Jonathan Cooper's petition for suspended sentence was granted by Judge Ash. He was placed on probation for 18 months and ordered to serve 4 months in jail. He was also directed to pay his fines and court costs.
Matthew G. Edwards was reset for a suspended sentence hearing on April 9, 2010.
Crystal McMahon was reset for a plea day on the charge of TennCare fraud. Her new court date is March 4, 2010.
John McPeak was set for motions on March 4, 2010 and a jury trial on May 7, 2010. He is charged with 2 counts of sale of methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling to keep, use or sell drugs.
Angela Trisler was reset for plea day on March 4, 2010. She is charged with sale of schedule 2, 2 counts of sale of schedule 3, TennCare fraud and maintaining a dwelling to keep, use or sell drugs,
Rex Melton was reset for a plea day on April 9, 2010. He is charged with aggravated perjury.
