Milan Tucker was born September 24, 1947 in Woodbury, TN to Sam Tucker and Odie Sissom Tucker. He graduated from Cannon Co. Central High School in 1966, attended the University of TN in Knoxville and served in the US Army.
On May 23, 1969 he married the former Darlene Jacobs from Manchester TN. Milan was employed with Kroger, Sam’s Club, Warehouse Manager for MoorMan Feed, and co-owner of Tucker’s Swings. He was a Master Woodworker, and enjoyed participating in local craft fairs. He also enjoyed collecting Allis Chalmer tractors, meeting new people, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren and being a member of the Parsley’s Market Breakfast Club Society.
Milan is survived by his wife of 43 years, Darlene Jacobs Tucker, daughter, Mila (James) Davis of Eagleville; son,
Marty (Amanda) Tucker of Bradyville; grandchildren, Brandon Koenig, Kailee and Jadyn Davis, Cayden, Toby and Rylee Tucker; siblings include brothers, Edward (Dot) Tucker of Bradyville, Kenneth (Mickie) Tucker, Avery Tucker, and sisters, Pat (Freddie) Fann, all of Bradyville, Faye Elam, Regenia (Richard) Grissom, both of Murfreesboro and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents, Sam Tucker and Odie Sissom Tucker, sister, Sharon Tucker, and nephew, Michael Tucker.
He was a member of The Midway Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to TN Fisher House (VA) and Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro.
Visitation was Monday, September 3, 2012 at Woodbury Funeral Home from 3 pm to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodbury Church of Christ with services beginning at 1 p.m. Bro. Norman Pelham, Bro. Al Bugg and Bro. Gayle Rains officiated. Burial was in the Midway Cemetery following services.
