Mrs. Jean N. Alexander

Mrs. Jean Northcutt Alexander, 83, of Smithville died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at DeKalb Community Hospital. A native of Cannon County, Mrs. Alexander was the daughter of the late J. L. (Pete) and Lera Tilford Northcutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alexander and brother, Foster Northcutt. Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Baptist Church and bookkeeper at Smithville Motors from 1958 to 1986. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24 at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury with Love-Cantrell in charge of arrangements. Survivors include two sons, Jim Alexander of Cookeville and Tommy (Joyce) Alexander of Smithville; sister, Carol Banta of Smithville; two brothers, Dixon (Isabell) Northcutt of Brentwood and Charles W. “George” Northcutt of McMinnville; sister in law, Mrs. Edith Northcutt of Woodbury, Hazel Neely and Waldean Mitchell, both of Murfreesboro; brothers and sisters in law, John Lee and Jane Alexander of Smithville and Jean and Richard Drewry of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren: Jenny Elizabeth and Doug Lynch of Orlando, FL, Rob Alexander of Smithville, David Alexander of Murfreesboro and James Daniel Alexander of Smithville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
