Cannon County’s tennis teams earned a district sweep against visiting Livingston Academy at Spurlock Park.
The Lionettes claimed an 8-0 shutout, while the Lions secured a 5-2 win.
The young Lionettes, who have no seniors, four juniors and one sophomore, had little trouble with the Lady Wildcats.
Sarah Hickman claimed an 8-2 win against Kaitlyn Lewis at No. 1 singles. The remainder of the lineup followed with shutouts. Katie Hickman blanked Billi Thompson, 8-0 at No. 2; followed by shutout wins from Kristen McReynolds at No. 3, Ashley Barnes at No. 4 and Autumn King at No. 5.
The Hickman sisters earned a shutout at No. 1 doubles, and McReynolds and King claimed an 8-1 triumph.
Cole Kaney lost a tough 8-6 match at No. 1 singles, but Jeffery Northcutt won his marathon, 9-7, at No. 2 singles to even the slate.
Daxton Patrick won 8-3 at No. 3 singles, Jacob Barnes won 8-1 at No. 4, Jude Kaney blanked his foe at No. 5 and Wesley Sadler was an 8-1 winner at No. 6
Kaney and Northcutt teamed to win at No. 1 doubles.
