The pressure is on the Cannon County Lionettes tonight as they look to keep the visiting Smith County Lady Owls winless in the District 8-AA standings when both teams get together on the hardwood. The Lionettes after beating Watertown in December have lost three district contests in a row and are 1-3 in the list which would currently put them in next to last place. Going into tonight's contest two teams (Upperman and Macon) are tied for first while two other teams (Livingston and Dekalb) are tied for fourth. Cannon falls one game back of that spot. Smith County and Watertown have yet to experience a district win.
The Lions are currently in third place with a 3-1 district record. Smith and Dekalb are tied next to last with 1-3 records. A win tonight keeps them in the thick of things with Upperman hosting Dekalb and York traveling to Macon this evening.
Tonight's games will be played at Robert A. Harris Gymnasium in Woodbury. You can hear the broadcasts of tonight's game on cannonsource.com and through Facebook live on the Courier's Facebook page "Cannon Courier News and Events". Game time tonight is 6:00 p.m.
