Ray C Todd, 74, passed peacefully at his home in Bradyville, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, June 23, 2021. A native of Cannon Co., he was the son of the late Fred C. and Grace Peeler Todd.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Murphy Todd of Bradyville; his children, Karen (David) King, Eric Ray Todd (Mitzie Laxton) and Erin (Matt) Bush all of Bradyville; grandchildren, Blake King, Taylor King Johnson (Josh), Autumn and Addie King, Mackenzie and Lucas Bush; great grandchildren, Xander and Emmy King, Enman, Eli and Easton Rayce Johnson and his aunt Kay Peeler of Woodbury. Also surviving are several cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by uncle, G.L. Peeler, aunt, Nora Cook and his best friend, Terry Holt.
A member of the Hollow Springs Community Church, he was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he was a medic during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany. Ray was a retired liaison with the State of TN, Dept. of Revenue with the Taxpayer Division.
A former school board member, He had a love for Cannon Co. Basketball and supported them in many ways including watching his children and granddaughters play along with many other children over the years. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was deer hunting, fishing, mowing his yard or riding on his Massey Ferguson tractor.
Above everything else, Ray loved his wife and family more than anything. He was extremely proud and protective of the ones he loved the most.
Funeral Services will be 3 pm, Saturday, June 26, 2021, Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Darryl Whaley and Bro. Sissom officiating. Interment will follow in Thyatira cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers include, Bryan, Kevin and Layne Murphy, Tom and Wil Bogle and Jeremy Gunter. Honorary pallbearers, James "Buck" Vassar, Larry Carter and Gordon Bell.
Visitation with his family will be from 3 PM until 8 PM, Friday, June 25, 2021 and Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1 pm until the time of his funeral service.
