The Cannon County Historical Society will meet Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Cannon County Senior Center.
Guest speaker will be Cannon County's own Raymond Robinson. The Robinson family dates from the early years of the pioneer settlement along the upper waters of the Stone's River. Historic "Robinson's Ridge" has long been a Cannon County landmark. Raymond and wife Linda still make their home in Cannon County.
Raymond's long career as a custom shoemaker with Jarman and Murphy Shoe Company of Nashville has carried him to many places across the nation, including frequent trips to the White House. He even traveled abroad to custom fit shoes during the course of his 40-year career.
