Evan Sharp, a senior at Cannon County High School, signed a scholarship with Cumberland University on June 26th. Sharp finished the year with a 5-3 record, 90 strikeouts, 26 walks in 55 2/3 innings.
Together with their families, Shannon Marie Brown and Kyle Harris Patrick joyfully announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Shannon is the daughter of Mike and Donna Brown of Murfreesboro, TN and Sandra Brown of Lafayette, TN.
Kyle is a graduate of Cannon Co. High School and is currently attending Middle TN. State University in Murfreesboro.
The Cannon County 9-10 year old All-Star Team played in the Tennessee Youth Baseball Association (TYBA) State Championship Tournament this past weekend and took home the Grand Championship Trophy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jewel Lee Barbura, 95 of Nashville were held Sunday, July 19, 2009 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Friel officiating. Burial was in Thyatira Cemetery with Woodbury Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Memorial services were held at Lakeside Baptist Church for Wanda Sue Bosarger, 54, of Hattisburg, Mississippi, who died June 30, 2009 at her home. Burial was in McLaurin Cemetery. Mrs. Bosarge was co-owner of 49 Flea Market and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.
Kimberly Michelle Ridinger, 34 of Murfreesboro died Sunday July 12, 2009. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Memorial service was held Saturday July 18, 2009 at New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro with Michael Murray will officiating.

11 talented boys have been chosen as the minor league 2009 all-stars. They have been traveling to various locations participating in all-star tournaments. The first was the Shelbyville summer slam 2009 tournament where they finished in 2nd place. The second was at the Buchanan Invitational where they also finished 2nd. July 10 - 12 they will also be participating in the TYBA state tournament in Murfreesboro.
Parents and coaches are proud to call the Red Sox the Minor League Season and Tournament Champions for the 2009 Cannon County Dixie Youth Baseball Season. Season record was 17-1 and Tournament record was 2-0.
