Mr. Robert Virgil Young, age 79, beloved father & husband was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at his home. We will miss him more than anyone can imagine. He was a native of Cannon Co.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Grace Frazier Young of Woodbury; Children, Robert Joseph Young of Nashville, John Lee Young of Nashville, James Ray (Elaine) Young of Nashville, Connie Grace (Johnny) Morris of Woodbury; Grandchildren, James Schyler (Whitney) Malone, William Parker of Woodbury, & Brody Morris of Woodbury; Brother, Nile (Della) Young of Woodbury. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Woodbury United Methodist Church. He loved to work in his wood shop & made beautiful dulcimers. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer of the United States Coast Guard. He was also an active member of the Woodbury Senior Citizen's Center and loved to tell stories and jokes.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. John Hembree officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, January 26, 2015 at Woodbury Funeral Home.
