Cannon County registered voters who turned out today for the Presidential Preference Primary Election also got to vote on a referendum on whether or not to increase the County Sales Tax from 8.75% to 9.75%. The "yes" votes won out with 924 votes to 788 "no" votes.
Next tax referendum to be decided on whether or not to continue the $40 wheel tax after the current debt is paid off around 2026. This issue will be on the August ballot.
