Cannon County emergency personnel responded to two serious accidents overnight.

The first occurred on Short Mountain Road near Pea Ridge Rd. It was a single-vehicle accident involving a pickup truck with three males inside.

The truck reportedly was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control. It rolled multiple times, ejecting all three of the occupants.

All three were life-flighted via three separate helicopters from the Short Mountain School landing zone with serious injuries.

According to Cannon County Dispatch, there was very good coordination via radio between the fire, rescue, EMS and law enforcement officers involved. It is not an easy task bringing in three separate helicopters on the same scene, a spokesperson said.

The second accident occurred in front of the 911 Dispatch Center on Jim Cummings Hwy. and was heard by the Dispatch personal working last light.

Apparently a white Dodge Caravan with a male and a female inside struck a tractor trailer with such force that it caused the trailer to overturn. The female had to be extricated by the Cannon County Rescue Sqaud and was life-flighted from a landing zone set up on Iconium Rd.

They were still trying to upright the trailer at this morning, according to Dispatch.

Both occupents of the Caravan were possibly under the influence.
